Tips on Drawing

General Sketching tools
Many of you probably think you only need two things to draw, pencil and paper, right? Well yes and no both. When I started drawing, I was only using typing paper and a .5 HB pencil. Although good for practice, not well for quality. A friend of mine bought me a drawing tablet and some art pencils when he found out I had taken up this hobby. Since then I haven't used typing paper for drawing. I did keep using the .5 HB pencil though (I just like mechanical pencils better because the graphite width doesn't get so bold.) Anyway, here's some good stuff to have.

A drawing pad
Use: Hmm, drawing maybe?
(I use Canson Acid free Sketch 9"X12" size)
Two mechanical pencils
Use: Sketching and Detailing
(one with 4H graphite the other with HB)
A Sharp blade or a piece of square flint
Use: Sharpening the tips of the graphite for finer detail. (not the pencil mind you)
(Stainless Steel pencil sharpeners work great)
An eraser
Use: Sometimes the pencil eraser just isn't enough
(The white ones work best)
