Second Sketch Step: Outline
Okay, next step is to draw the lines in place of the bubbles also using 4H graphite (Although my example looks like the bubbles are gone, they are still there, and should remain there until this step is completed.) You'll want to drape some of the lines, as if you are laying cloth over the bubbles. This is why it is a good idea to have other anime pictures on file. You can make reference to them when you are not sure what something should look like. Also, you should add the facial details (I find it easier to do them in this order: hair, nose, eyes, ears, then the mouth.) Once you have the figured laid out and all the minor details taken care of, it is okay to start erasing the bubbles.

Note: Your image should not be as dark as the example. It was darkened so the scanner would pick up the lines.
