Tips on Drawing

Third Sketch Step: Details & More
This step is all about details. It is also done in 4H graphite. You'll want to get everything drawn here. Any wrinkle in the clothing, any strands of hair, whatever it may be just get it all drawn in. When you are done with this step, you'll be looking at the finished line art. This is why it is highly important not to leave out any of the details. Also, it is a good idea to sketch in where the light will be reflecting most, but only very lightly. Notice Where I have sketched the light, in the hair and certain places on the costume. It is very hard to see because I drew it so light, but it is there. Adding the light isn't really important, but it helps you out when you are ready to shade.

Note: Your image should not be as dark as the example. It was darkened so the scanner would pick up the lines.
